Lisa Hürtgen is a Berlin based film director and writer.

She was born in Düsseldorf in 1995.

After her studies at MET Filmschool London she has been studying Directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB).  Among others, she directed the short films HERE, FOR YOU (HIER, FÜR DICH, 2021) and SWIMMING LESSON (SCHWIMMSTUNDE, 2022), running on several festivals like Short Tiger in Cannes or Queer Lisboa, and the Ghanaian-German web series TALES FROM THE BLUE BUS for ARTE (2020).

In 2021 she worked as personal assistant to director for the feature WHEN WILL IT BE AGAIN LIKE IT NEVER WAS BEFORE by Sonja Heiss and in 2022 as 1st AD for Aleksandra Odić’s feature debut FILO.  

She wrote and directed her dffb graduation film DOWN TO EARTH (WT) in cooperation with EZEF in 2023.

Currently she is working on her debut feature SHITTY PLANETS.
